1 – Idea needs to be something we can do. This means, although we appreciate general feedback (for example, “this is good!” or “this hurts!”), here we are looking for ideas we can work on.

  1. PCBA with < 50 pieces/board cost much more than PCBA with > 50 pieces???? Why

I do calculation from your PCBA specification and I see board with < 50 pieces cost $0.10 per pin and board with > 50 pieces cost $0.01 per pin.
This pricing policy of yours means that a simple board cost more than a complex board.
This is a silly policy. We are looking for a manufacturer to produce thousands of boards for us, so I think we will use a different company because your cost is bad.

  2. make a tool to update the rephone firmware from Linux or at least Windows 10.

I spent money and nothing works without a firmware update, I have Ubuntu and Windows 10 machines, advertised as open source, then tell me how to use any tool to update the firmware, it cannot be that complex, set in to firmware loading mode, transfer. bin file, disable firmware loading mode. or give me a couple of hundred dollars of credit for the money you took from me and lied to get, you have lots of great products and rephone should be one of the best but it isn't versatile enough to develop on. mac and Linux support will make…

  4. Hi people. Re Bus Pirate V4. Screw hole size change to suit case.

Hi people. Re Bus Pirate V4. The acrylic case kit has 3 mm screws, but the screw holes on PCB are only 2.8 mm after plating, and plating is used as part of ground connection, so drilling out is undesirable. Suggest you use 3.3 mm holes pre-plate on any rerun of boards.

  5. I2C_LCD Grove I2C Address

I like that little screen, but its I2C address of 0x51 is REALLY annoying. Traditionally, 0x50 to 0x57 is reserved for external EEPROM chips. By setting the I2C address of this LCD to 51, I lose one slot for my EEPROM chips, and I have to rewrite code. Could I suggest you produce the next version with an I2C address that doesn't conflict with existing standards?

  6. Liquid density and temperature sensor (sterilizable)

An addressable, 1 or 2-wire protocol reporting sensor that, when placed in a liquid could report on the temperature and density of that liquid.

This sensor could be used to determine specific gravity during brewing etc.

Also, as a secondary wish - adding a pH sensor would be awesome.

  7. Test Your Webpage

For years everything worked seamlessly but now the webpage is full of bugs. Next to the user icon it shows "Hi,?????". Trying to order a Fusion PCB with Firefox everything works, except the "Add to Cart" button does nothing, I tried with 2 versions of FF. With Chromium the menu doesn't work, nothing happens if I move the mouse pointer to the "Fusion" menu. Pressing the mouse button opens the menu, but releasing it goes to a different page. Some links give a 504 error. My address book is empty and all old orders are gone too.

  9. Update the Relay Shield to Version 4.0 with....

The arduino relay shield could be even better with:

    1) If the status LED's were in order for 1, 2, 3 and 4.
    2) If the shield used smaller reed relays and supported 6 or 8 relays.
    3) If each terminal block had FOUR terminals one unused. Why? Because there's always a ground return or something else to hook up.
    4) If there were a solder block so the pins activating the relay could be cut and swapped to other I/O pins.
    5) If the silk screen documented what I/O pins went to each relay by default.

    and

    6) If…

  10. Smaller stensels

My PCBs are all very small and I hand screen and place components. Any chance of getting a screen that is 10 mm or so bigger all around than the PCB.

No need to pay high shipping costs for a screen that I have to cut up to use.

  11. UPS board for generic SBC

There are few boards with native lithium battery support but it would be nice to add UPS like function to any 5V powered board, be it ARM or Atmel. AXP209 is integrated on some boards and I believe it would be very interesting to have it on a breakout board similar with a solar charge controller. The simplest configuration would have only 6 pins (5V--In&GND / Batt+&Batt- / 5V-Out&GND). Some extra feature would make it even better: an EN pin that would cut-off both battery and Vin input. An AO pin to measure the battery voltage, a DO to send…

  13. Exclude discontinued items from listings.

It's getting where there are more discontinued items than new ones. It would be nice if the discontinued items were only visible if you visited the item directly. (Preventing broken links). Otherwise exclude them from the default view.

  16. 5pin version of the Grove DMX512

The industry standard connector for DMX512 is the 5pin XLR. Supporting this standard would make it much easier implementing the Grove board into existing projects.

  20. DipTrace gerber export tutorial incorrect (twice)

In your tutorial regarding how to export gerber files from DipTrace, you show the resulting output files as all having .gbr extension, yet your standard is for the extension to indicate the type of file and for each file name (sans extension) to be the same. That is misleading.

Also, you show a set of Gerber file types highlighted in the Layers box. This will NOT limit the output to only those file types. When you hit the "Export All" button it will, literally, Export ALL of the file types, not just the ones that were highlighted.

    There is a…
