My Seeed Idea

Share. Vote. Discuss. See.

Idea Guidelines:
1 – Idea needs to be something we can do. This means, although we appreciate general feedback (for example, “this is good!” or “this hurts!”), here we are looking for ideas we can work on.
2 – Specific. The more details you can provide, the better. Heck—you can attach files to ideas or a reference link to show us what you want!

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. To make the gerber viewer available for past orders

When viewing the order history it is possible to reorder past orders. It would help a lot if it was possible to view PCB's in these orders - it would at least increase the likely hood that one actually does reorder something.

    • replace generic icon with pcb render

on the account order history page pcb orders should have a rendering of the board instead of that generic icon

Create output job file for use in project to generate required files in format you need. File will specify BOM format, gerber options, etc.

        • Create waterproof Grove connectors

If Grove (4 pin) connectors could be waterproof, that would make it easier to use outdoors/in harsh environments.

Wouldn't have to be IP67 or IP68 compliant, just something a bit more robust that what exists.

You'd need bulkhead connectors as well, so you could put a controller/batteries in a waterproof box, and the sensors someplace else.

            Hi Andrew:
Thanks for your advice, we believe that waterproof function is important in harsh environments for groves. But since the sensor itself needs to be waterproof, we believe that an enclosure for the whole grove module may be better.
Please let us know your opinion.

          • Few more details for 3D printing

The 3D printing should show the output design diameters for confirmation after uploading the STL file. Now there is an 3D image of the design and volume being calculated. I would like to see the volume units and general diameters for confirmation of my design. If I saw that my print dimensions match the ones on the site it would be very helpful. I would imagine that this would make things very clear and lower the ordering threshold from customers also.

              • Sensor board, or arduino shield, based on the AS3935 chip

The AS3935 has a very sensitive lightning detector with SPI and I2C interfaces and needs only a few other parts. Putting this chip on a sensor or shield would make it very easy to build an Arduino lightning detector that could count lightning strikes, log them, and warn of a coming lightning storm. Would be great for a weather station project too.

                • Bitcoin payments

bitcoin is easier and cheaper than shitty credit cards. Adafruit.com and many chinese PCB manufactureres already accept it.

Kit to connect several lvds LCD types to projects and signal search. To notebooks older, the lcd lvds can be recycled to projects with arduino and raspberry pi or other connections computers's.

                    • Support ODB++ file format

It would be very nice if you could handle ODB++ format also.
From my point of view, it is very easy to work with. After "I saw the light" with this format (compared to gerber), I prefer not to use gerber.

                      • Optional 3.3V jumper for MCP2515 on CAN-BUS Shield

Just hate ruining a nicely designed and brand new board like this to use 3.3V on the MCP2515. I can understand the design as the Uno is based on 5V logic and is also a requirement for the MCP2551 but for added compatibility it would be nice to see in future revisions.
