Idea Guidelines:
1 – Idea needs to be something we can do. This means, although we appreciate general feedback (for example, “this is good!” or “this hurts!”), here we are looking for ideas we can work on.
2 – Specific. The more details you can provide, the better. Heck—you can attach files to ideas or a reference link to show us what you want!

  1. Lexan Labels

I like to put labels on my PCB enclosures. It would be great if Seeed offered a lexan or similar material label service.

  2. Mount the actual Grove Connector on the side of the board opposite proximity-critical sensors

On some boards, like the Grove Sunlight Sensor, it is critical that the sensor be as near the sunlight as possible. Currently, the sensor is mounted so it makes the light travel further than necessary. This is non-optimal placement to get light to sensor. Plus, it’s hard to manage the mounting and wiring against an enclosure. Instead, put the Grove Connector on the other side of the board so the sensor is as near as possible to the enclosure aperture. It will also make wiring simpler. .

  3. Open source hardware

Maybe you can spread the word about this cool initiative that will produce open source hardware schematics for a complete notebook: https://www.powerpc-notebook.org/

  5. Control placement of manufacturing number

AFAIU, all orders placed through the standard PCB service get a "manufacturing number" added on the silkscreen to facilitate production. Currently, seeed places these numbers (which I assume is a manual action?).

It would be good if you could control the placement of this number, to better integrate it with the PCB design and make the result more pleasing to look at. For Seeed, this might remove a manual action from the process, saving time and cost.

I could imagine that this placement is done by a specially sized box on the silkscreen, or better a completely separate layer ("comments"…

  6. Fix the PCB specification page in Firefox

Currently, the PCB specification page does not properly display in Firefox. It seems images are not scaled properly (I suspect because Firefox does not honor the td width parameter), which causes the table to become very wide. On my screen (1280px wide), this causes the table to be cropped at the right, completely hiding the actual data.

Just now I noticed that the page did properly display in Chrome and found out there was a lot more info on the spec page than I suspected.

I'm talking about this page: http://support.seeedstudio.com/knowledgebase/articles/447362-fusion-pcb-specification
    I've attached a screenshot of how Firefox 45.4.0 renders…

  7. Persistence of Vision Board.

    Peristence of Vision Board.
Hi I'd like to share a project of Persitence of Vision: Arduino code generator for images and text. It is DIY cheap and easy, and all resources are free.

(load any image and it gearates the code)

    Thanks.

  9. WOW, WOW

    stay as you are!
I know it's my first direct order on SeeedStudio, but i see ordering here is much faster than ordering in my neighboring country netherland.

I have only one question or an second suggest:
Is there an way to use Fritzing for ordering PCB's, because all of my designs are made with. A remake on Eagle takes too much time.

  11. One twisted pair 100Mbit Ethernet

Hello guys. I would like to recomend to focus on Automotive ethernet, standard 100baseT1 (BroadR-Reach). Example of PHY nxp TJA1100,
It can be used in place original PHY of regular 100baseT Ethernet PHY. It is much more robust against EMI than PC version. It is already used in BMW. I can imagine nice, small kit that has on one side MII to interface MCU and on another IEEE802.3bw (3rd name for this ETH standard)

  14. kicad gerber generation

the process for handling BOMs should be integrated better with kicad BOM export.
The libraries do not help much, as the MPN are not included on the library.

  16. more detail on order status

Provide more online detail on order status. e.g. "Processing" is too generic. more detail would be appreciated, including estimated shipping date.

  17. Make logins last longer

While assembling a recent order over several days, I was very frustrated by how often I had to log in. I can understand asking for my password before placing an order or viewing account details, but I just wanted to see the items in my cart. I don't think meaningful security is gained by not letting me stay logged in.
